Last call: Take the Game of Table Tennis Outside!

August 24, 2016 by Lina

Now that the summer is almost over, it is a perfect time to reflect on all the happy moments you spent outdoors in the sun. Feeling sad yet? Don’t be. There’s still plenty of time left before winter strikes.

Late summer is probably one of the most enjoyable times to be outside. The temperature is just right, the sky is still clear and you can almost smell the pumpkin spice that fall brings. You can feel it, fall is just around the corner, and you should make the most of the time left before you don your hoodie and snuggle under your favorite blanket.

Back to school season

With the start of the school season, your kids will most likely be back on a tight schedule. A schedule that doesn’t necessarily leave too much time for you kids to play. Especially outdoor play, as the sun is starting to shine less and less every day.

It’s important for children to spend time outside involved in an activity that engages their whole bodies, but now with all the cool gadgets laying around, it is very easy to forget yourself and play video games, especially if you’re a just a kid looking for easy fun.

There are many risks that follow this lifestyle: childhood obesity and lack of focus that sometimes borders with ADHD are just a couple of them. It is up to parents to decide whether their child will spend their afternoon looking at various screens, or spend some of that time doing an activity that challenges them, both physically and mentally.

Boy Playing Ping Pong with Mom

This is where sports like table tennis come in handy

If you haven’t already, you should definitely get acquainted with numerous health benefits of ping-pong. You’ll find out why many people call it “chess on steroids”, and why ping pong is officially the Number One Brain Sport in the World.  Not only does it engage every muscle in your body, but it does so with a low risk of injury. It’s a social sport, and one of the best opportunities to bond with your family members.

We at Killerspin have made it our mission to promote table tennis as a great way to establish real human connections and closeness with people around you, and one of the best ways to do so is to roll your outdoor ping pong table to your backyard and share some memorable moments. The new and improved line of our MyT Outdoor ping pong tables can be the perfect meeting point after a hard day at work or school.

All tables now come with built in pockets that can store up to eight balls and two paddles on each end. Their safety locking mechanisms make them a perfectly safe, kid friendly option. And no, we didn’t just think about the children.

For you grown ups, you’ll be happy to know that the assembly process of all MyT tables DOES NOT take more than 15 minutes. Just slot in the legs, secure them with a few bolts, and you’re ready to go. You don’t even have to worry about bringing the table indoor if it starts raining, they are completely weatherproof.

Also, if you’re thinking ahead, and already trying to find different ways to keep your kids entertained during the long winter, you might want to consider an outdoor/indoor option. A table like MyT10 BlackStorm deserves to be a meeting point throughout the whole year! It’s completely weather proof for summer fun, and the bounce is so true that you’re not giving up quality of play when you roll it inside during the winter months.
