41 Rules - Singles

Scoring System

  • Match is one game to 41 points divided into 2 Periods (Halves)

Quarters

  • Q1 - ends when one Player reaches 10 points
  • Q2 - ends when one Player reaches 20 points
  • Half-Time - Players change sides after Q2
  • Q3 - ends when one Player reaches 30 points
  • Q4 - ends when one Player reaches 41 points (must win by 2)

Breaks

  • Towel Breaks - Players may take a towel break every 6 points
  • Half-Time - There will be a 1 minute break between the 2nd and 3rd Quarters
  • Players are allowed 1 time out per match

Warm-ups

  • 2 min before match starts

Coin Toss

  • The toss of coin will take place prior to the opening warm-up.
  • The toss will be called by the Player with the highest rated player before the coin is flipped.
  • The winner may choose one of two privileges and the loser gets the other:
    • Serve or Receive First and
    • Choose side of the Table to play on for Q1/Q2

Points

  • Matches shall be assigned a prize point value, the winner shall receive the prize points
  • Quarters shall be assigned prize point values equal to ¼ of the Match Prize Point Value
    • The Winner of the quarter receives the Quarter Prize Points
    • The Loser of the quarter looses 1/3 the Quarter Prize Points
  • Top 4 Finishers can be converted points into Cash or American Express Points

41 Rules - Teams

Scoring System

  • Match is one game to 41 points divided into 4 Periods (Quarters)

Teams

  • Each Team has 2 players and shall designate 1 player as Team Captain
  • One Team shall be designated as "Numbers" and the other as "Letters"
  • The "Numbers" Team has Players 1 and 2
  • The "Letters" Team has Players A and B

Players

  • The Player that starts the Quarter is the "Active" Player
  • The Player that does not start the Quarter is the "Bench" Player

Quarters - Half-Time - Teams change sides after Q2

  • Q1 - Player 1 vs Player A, ends when one team reaches 10 points
  • Q2 - Player 2 vs Player B, ends when one team reaches 20 points
  • Q3 - Player 1 vs Player B, ends when one team reaches 30 points
  • Q4 - Player 2 vs Player A match ends when one team reaches 41 points (must win by 2)

Tags (Substitutions)

  • A "Tag" is executed by a Team substituting its Active Player for its Bench Player
  • After the 1st point of the quarter the Active Player may "Tag" the Bench Player
  • Tags last for 3 consecutive points or the end of the Quarter whichever comes first
  • Each Team is allowed 2 Tags per match
  • Only 1 Tag is allowed per team per quarter

Breaks

  • Tags - Tag breaks last 1 min, players may speak to their coach or teammate
  • Towel Breaks - Players may take a towel break every 6 points
  • Half-Time - There will be a 1 minute break between the 2nd and 3rd Quarters
  • There are no other time outs

Warm-ups at the Start of Each Quarter

  • Q1/Q2 = 1 min
  • Q3/Q4 = 30 Sec
